Biography:
Motoi MACHIDA received Sc.B. degree from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, in 1983 studying on acid-base catalyst under Prof. Kozo Tanabe. He got his job at Idemitsu Co., Ltd., program on hydrotreating catalyst and received Ph.D. in 1998 under Prof. Hideshi Hattori. Then he moved to Chiba University as an associate professor in 2001 to develop adsorbents for water purification and promoted to professor in 2008. He stayed Laurentian University, Ontario, working with Dr. Luis Mercier on meso-porous silica in 2011. We are currently investigating the hetero-atom functionalized adsorbent surface. He has published more than 100 research articles.
