Biography:
Dr. Praveen Dahiya is a distinguished biotechnologist with over 18 years of experience in research and teaching, specializing in industrial biotechnology, enzyme technology, medical microbiology, and sustainable bioprocessing. She currently serves as Professor and Head, Centre for Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering, Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India. Dr. Dahiya earned her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, with pioneering doctoral research conducted at IIT Delhi on microbial enzymes and their industrial applications. Her research focuses on enzyme technology, bio-nanotechnology, antimicrobial technologies, and solid-waste bioprocessing, with notable contributions to enzyme-assisted ester production and antimicrobial strategies against MRSA. She has authored numerous research publications, edited books, and book chapters, and has contributed to Indian patent applications and competitively funded research projects. She also serves on editorial boards and peer-review committees of international journals and has received Young Scientist recognitions and multiple presentation awards.
