Title : Water-soluble vanadium(v) schiff base complexes: Synthesis, and catalytic activity

Abstract:

Two dinuclear water-soluble oxovanadium(V) complexes, [(L1H)VO(μ-O)]? (C1) and [(L2H)VO(μ-O)]? (C2), were synthesized from VOSO? and the corresponding tetradentate Schiff base ligands, [N-(2-hydroxyethylamino)ethyl]-5-methoxysalicylaldimine (L1H) and 2- [(2-(2-hydroxyethylamino)ethylimino)methyl]phenol (L2H), under reflux in methanol. Their catalytic activity in the oxidation of olefins was investigated in water as a green solvent, using different oxidizing agents. The results highlight the high efficiency and good yields obtained with these catalysts, along with their effective reusability.
