Title : Nuclear risks and damages in Europe
Abstract:
Today, the growing danger of nuclear weapons in Europe is evident, linked to the uncontrolled military operations on its territory, including the Russian nuclear defence in Ukraine. Major nuclear industry facilities are located there, including several nuclear power plants (NPP) and a number of supporting enterprises, including uranium processing. The significant risk of accidents and disasters , including significant irreversible pollution is NPP river basins, but radiation emissions into atmosphere, which can spread to vast densely populated areas. The greatest danger is the Zaporizhzhia NPP (ZaNPP) with combined capacity 6,000 MW. Any disruption to the operation of even one reactor at the NPP poses risk of polluting Dnieper River basin and Black Sea. Special monitoring of its condition is necessary to ensure the normal functioning of its water supply systems. Here have already been attempts to disrupt their operation through targeted terrorist attacks under the negative and undesirable with some EU political structures. Unfortunately worsen overall social dynamics and diminish role of the human factor. in preventing both natural and man-made disasters. The existence of not only local but also widespread dynamic chaos is undeniable. It is the complex taskto develop special methods for reducing its harsh turbulence and softening it to a laminar nature.
Some measures to improve security not only for ZaNPP but other large industrial facilities are discussed. They include various measures, including combating terrorist attacks, increasing total safety culture with clean awareness of consequences of terrorist attacks, timely operational information support, improving security NPP, including accelerated advanced training of NPP operators.
