Sirshendu Guha

Biography:

Dr. Sirshendu Guha is a Chemist and a Chemical Engineer. He is working as Deputy General Manager (Technical) in Process Design and Development Division of Engineers India Limited, New Delhi, India. Dr. Sirshendu is involved in research works related to Petroleum Engineering, Resilience Engineering,Electrochemistry & Electrochemical Engineering including research related to sources of Clean Energy that do not cause environmental degradation and global warming. He has rich consultancy experience forcompleting various projects in the fields of Refineries, Gas Processing and Petro-Chemicals, Chemicals, and Fertilizers for twenty-seven years at Engineers India Limited, India. He also has three years of experience in Research and Development at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India. Dr. Sirshendu graduated from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India with a B.Sc degree in Chemistry (Honours). He then completed a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India, and subsequently completed an M.Tech in Process Engineering and Design from the Indian Instituteof Technology, Delhi, India. He received his Ph.D. (Tech) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India with a thesis in the field of “Resilience Engineering for Process Systems”. Dr. Sirshendu published a total of eighteen single-author research papers in international journals andconferences to date. He has delivered a talk on “process system resilience” at the University of California at Berkeley, U.S.A., and has published papers in proceedings of the AIChE annual meetings in 2017, 2019, and2023 on topics such as “process system resilience”, “process intensification” “Thermophysical Properties: Theory and Experiments for Charged Systems”. Dr. Sirshendu received a “Certificate of Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing” from the Journal of LossPrevention in the Process Industries in January 2017. He is a regular reviewer for the Journal of LossPrevention in the Process Industries, Environmental Progress and Sustainable Energy Journal, and Computersand Chemical Engineering Journal. He is an AIChE Senior Member and IIChE Life Member. He was awardedIndian National Scholarship in 1989 and he received GATE fellowship in 1992.
