Title : Eco- friendly green technology for industrial wastewater management
Abstract:
Industrial wastewater management and reuse in industrial process are critical issues for the development of human activities, industrialization and environment conservation. Aqueous waste stream is generated from some manufacturing processes and these wastewaters are toxic and therefore needs to be treated by other chemical and biological processes.
Catalytic wet oxidation has to be an effective technology using precious metal catalyst for wastewater management where the concentration of organic pollutants is too low for the incineration and other technique economically not feasible and biological treatment are ineffective in the case of toxicity.In present study catalytic wet air oxidation and wastewater that contains organic content is investigated. In present work Pt/C precious metal catalyst have been fabricated to determine the optimum operating condition in reduction of COD removal of wastewater.
Industrial wastewater was carried out at 230?C to 250?C and pressure 90 to 100 bar with oxygen in stainless steel fixed bed reactors. Wastewater used were analyzed in respect to their COD content. Pt/C precious metal catalyst is effective for treatment of wastewater results shows that the COD removal increased rapidly during initial hours of reaction time maximum of 98.85% was observed after 120 minutes reaction time.
