Title : Synthesis and characterization of new asymmetric triazacyclohexane ligands
Abstract:
Nitrogen heterocyclic compounds, especially triazacyclohexanes, represent an important class of heterocycles [14] and because of their structural diversity, 1,3,5-triazacyclohexanes are used in structural chemistry to study the conformation of this type of molecules and also in the coordination chemistry of heteroatoms with certain metals. For several years, the coordination chemistry of 1,3,5-triazacyclohexaneshas been developed, the results suggest that the complexes formed using triazacyclohexanes as ligands which are used in homogeneous catalysis as catalysts in the polymerization or trimerization reaction of olefins. In the present work, we have synthesized a new asymmetric triazacyclohexane ligands by a condensation reaction of alkylamines and / or arylamines with formalin under well-defined conditions. These ligands were characterized by spectroscopic and structural methods. Structural studies show that the asymmetric triazacyclohexanes adopt a chair conformation with a di-axial orientation of the two aryl groups and equatorial of the alkyl group (aae).
